A failed sump pump can allow groundwater to build up quickly in a basement or crawlspace, soaking flooring, drywall, insulation, and stored belongings.
What the Job Involves
The affected area is inspected for standing water and moisture around the basement floor, walls, and lower-level materials. Water is extracted, damaged contents are moved, and wet materials are evaluated for drying or removal.
Signs You Need It
- Standing water around the basement floor
- Wet carpet or flooring
- Damp basement walls
- Water near the sump pit
- Musty odors
- Repeated basement flooding
How the Work Goes
The water source and affected areas are identified first. Standing water is removed with extraction equipment, followed by moisture readings throughout the basement. Air movers and dehumidifiers are placed to dry salvageable materials, while damaged drywall, insulation, or flooring may be removed when necessary.
What Affects the Cost
Cost depends on the depth and amount of standing water, affected materials, basement size, water contamination, and how long the area stayed wet. Hidden moisture behind walls or beneath flooring can increase the restoration scope.
